Five things the data told us

    1. Ramp is getting worse for AEs. The median AE ramp jumped from 12.8 weeks in 2024 to 14.6 weeks in 2026.
    2. Peer grading is unreliable. Two managers scoring the same role-play were 3.2 points apart on average.
    3. Practice is still rare. Only 44% of teams role-play weekly or more, despite 91% saying it matters.
    4. AI closed the practice gap. Teams using AI role-play averaged 2.7x more practice reps per week.
    5. The ROI is real. Teams that adopted AI role-play in 2025 saw a 42% median ramp reduction within two hire classes.
